Kingsbridge Fair Week kicks off tonight - but with a difference!

Kingsbridge Fair Week is an essential date in the summer calendar, but coronavirus has turned the whole world upside down so this year it is taking place online.

Kingsbridge Fair Week

If you always made sure to make your way down to the Quay for the Fair Week Fireworks, make sure you visit the Kingsbridge Fair Week Facebook page at 9pm and you can imagine you're down on the market square with a beer in hand, Rowland's Fun Fair in the background, watching them explode from the barge on the estuary.

Kingsbridge Fair Week team have always put an enormous amount of time and effort into making sure the event is a roaring success, and this year, while hundreds of other similar things have been cancelled, they have come together to make sure as much as possible can carry on, despite the world outside going mad.
So while you're waiting for the fireworks to kick off, why not submit your entries for the Crabbing Competition, the Lantern Parade and the Dog Show!

The Dog Show will take place on Monday, 20th of July. To enter, take a photo of your dog and email it to competitions@kingsbridgefairweek.co.uk. The Lantern Parade was a highlight of the week too. Seeing all the children with their homemade lanterns and all dressed up to make their way down to the market square was always so beautiful. This year, Kingsbridge Fair Week are encouraging you to get creative at home! The theme for this year is positivity, so think hearts, sunshine, friendship and family, nature – anything that makes you happy. Once you have made your lantern, why not have a mini parade in your garden? The Crabbing Competition is online too, find out the rules by clicking here, and if you fancy yourself as a bit of brain box, the Crazy Quiz is still taking place, with a twist, tomorrow evening! Check it out by clicking here.

Kingsbridge Fair Week 2020 timetable of events

With everything being online, Kingsbridge Fair Week is unable to make the money it usually does to keep the event going every year, so if you enjoy the online activities and would like to donate to make sure next year is as good as previous years, you can visit their JustGiving page by clicking here

I hope everyone enjoys themselves as much as usual, even if the whole thing is a little bit odd this year!
