Rebranded, refurbished and relaunched, Duke Street caters for everyone

Duke Street coffee shop in Kingsbridge has been rebranded, refurbished and relaunched after lockdown and is ready to serve every taste.

Duke Street's new frontage

Duke Street, run by Chris and Ashleigh Roberts, is getting a reputation for being the place to get beautiful and delicious sushi, either as a takeaway for lunch or as an evening meal delivered straight to your door.

Alongside the sushi boxes, Duke Street has a wide range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options and almost everything they sell in the cafe is homemade.

Duke Street has a strong green ethos, getting more and more important by the day, and this means that all of their packaging is plastic free and they produce no waste that isn’t recycled or composted - including their branded coffee cups, which unlike many other brands, are completely compostable.

Talking about their varied menu, Ashleigh said: “We know that a lot of people have made the choice to cut out animal products and go vegan, so we have ensured that when you come to us you aren't stuck with one or two things on the menu but have a variety of things to choose from. From vegan pies, pasties, paninis, cakes and much more we have a little bit for everyone’s taste.”

They’re dog friendly too!

“We are so lucky to have the team we do”, Ashleigh said, “they’re so happy to work hard and we often can’t keep them away from the place. They’re always making the most delicious homemade creations and they’re a great bunch with a good vibe about them.”

Ordering sushi couldn’t be easier either, as it can all be done online through their Facebook page. Visit here and you can order what you want the day before to be delivered to you or for you to pick up from the cafe on Duke Street, Kingsbridge.

Alongside the coffee shop side of the business, you can also find the most amazing local products in Duke Street. All the products are as local as can be, most are Devon-based, a couple are from South West and all but one are English. “We tried to stock products that we love ourselves” Chris explained, “we wanted things that you couldn’t find in the supermarket and things you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else in Kingsbridge either. Most of the products we stock have won Taste of the West awards too, so we’re not the only ones who think they’re great!”
