Storm Ellen takes marquee as a victim

The rain and heavy winds last night claimed a newly erected marquee as a victim, but it will be back!

Valley View Cafe's marquee this morning - Valley View Cafe

The marquee had been erected by Valley View Cafe, Loddiswell, just three days before in order to provide more inside space as the main building is quite narrow and restricts the amount of tables that can be used while socially distancing.

Amy from Valley View said: "We decided to buy a marquee so we can have some shelter on these wet days due to our cafe building remaining closed. It’s just too little inside to socially distance and we thought it’s best to remain closed to keep our team and customers safe."

When the marquee was blown over, Amy said: "Storm Ellen got the better of our beautiful marquee. Our troops are working super hard trying to reorder parts so we can hopefully put it back in its place (with bigger pegs 🙄) super soon!

"These things are sent to try us but team Valley View has got this!"

They vowed that the marquee will be back and while they wait the cafe is still serving to the outside tables with gorgeous views of the valley.
